Revenue reads $0 on purpose. Impressions, clicks and fill rate all report as usual, but revenue and eCPM stay at zero for as long as the placement is in test mode. That is the point of the mode, not a reporting fault.
Turning it on
Open the placement in your dashboard and switch Test mode on. It applies to that placement only — your other placements keep serving live demand and keep earning. If the placement has earned in the last seven days we ask you to confirm first, and show you
how much. Test mode stops that placement earning for as long as it is on, so we would rather
you saw the number than found out later.
What you will see
Test ads render exactly like live ads through the same integration path — same request, same response shape, same impression pixel, same click URL. Nothing in your code changes between test and live. The creative content is what identifies them. Test ads come from Adgentek’s own test brand, with copy that says so plainly rather than imitating a real advertiser. In reporting you will see impressions and clicks accumulate against the placement, with revenue and eCPM at zero. What to check while testing
Test mode is most useful for confirming the parts that only break in a real integration:- the ad renders correctly in your layout, at your breakpoints, in each format you have enabled
- your impression pixel fires from the real client, so impressions register rather than silently dropping
- the click URL opens correctly from your surface
- the placement appears in reporting with the numbers you expect
Going live
Ask us to take the placement out of test mode. From that point it becomes eligible for your normal demand, and revenue accrues as usual. Nothing in your integration needs to change. Historical test impressions stay in reporting at zero revenue and do not affect your earnings.Troubleshooting
The Test mode switch is greyed out. There is no test inventory available at the moment, so a placement in test mode would have nothing to serve. We disable the switch rather than let you turn on something that cannot work. Contact us and we will sort it out. Switched on, but no ads. Give it five minutes first. If it persists, check the formats enabled on the placement — test inventory has to exist for the format you are requesting, and we may not have a matching creative yet. Tell us which format and we will add one. Ads serve but revenue is zero. Expected. See the note at the top of this page. A format you enabled is not appearing. Test inventory has to exist for each format you want to exercise. Tell us which formats you need and we will make matching test creatives eligible.Limits worth knowing
- Test mode is set per placement, so testing does not interrupt earnings on your other placements.
- Turning it on and off is yours to control, and every change is logged with who made it and when.
- While a placement is in test mode it will not serve live demand, so do not leave a revenue-earning placement in test mode longer than you need.
Prefer a placement created specifically for testing rather than switching a live one into test
mode? Ask us — a dedicated test placement is usually cleaner while you are still building, and it
means you never have to take an earning placement out of service.
