The dashboard calls publisher placements AI Surfaces. Open Publisher Dashboard → Inventory → AI Surfaces to create and manage them.

Create a surface

  1. Select Create Surface.
  2. Choose the publisher property that owns the surface.
  3. Enter a stable surface name and choose its Surface Type.
  4. Select the Allowed Ad Formats supported by the surface. Some specialized surfaces hide this selector because their format is implicit.
  5. Configure the minimum floor eCPM, disclosure, language, and technical capabilities that apply.
  6. Save, then copy the Placement ID for your integration.
Use that Placement ID as the slot identifier in serve requests. Keep IDs stable after launch so reporting, policy assignment, and troubleshooting continue to refer to the same inventory.

Manage surfaces

The Surfaces table shows the property, channel, enabled formats, Placement ID, and status. You can:
  • search by name, Placement ID, or channel
  • filter active and inactive surfaces
  • enable or disable serving without deleting the surface
  • edit the surface type, allowed formats, minimum floor eCPM, language, disclosure, and supported capabilities
  • archive unused surfaces and restore them later

Ad policies

Category rules, language and advertiser filters, and intent thresholds live under Inventory → Ad Policies, rather than directly in the Surfaces table. A policy can be the account default or assigned to a specific surface. See Publisher controls.
The dashboard uses both “surface” and “placement” terminology. The Placement ID shown for a surface is the identifier integrations send as slot_id or the integration-specific slot field.
