# Publisher controls

> You control what serves, where, and how often.

Every control below is configured per placement in the dashboard at [app.adgentek.ai](https://app.adgentek.ai).

**Formats.** Enable or disable each ad format (Spark, contextual cards, sponsored recommendations, inline mentions, action cards) per placement.

**Placement position.** Where in the conversation flow ads may appear, and on article pages, where the Publisher Widget renders.

**Advertiser categories.** Allow or block advertiser categories. Sensitive categories are blocked by default and require explicit opt-in.

**Brand blocklists.** Block specific advertisers by domain.

**Frequency caps.** Per session, per user, and per day. Defaults are conservative; raise them only with engagement data supporting it.

**Floors and quality thresholds.** Minimum CPM per placement, and a quality threshold that filters low-relevance matches even when they clear the floor.

## Recommended starting configuration

For a new AI chat surface, start with Spark plus contextual cards enabled, sensitive categories blocked, a frequency cap of one ad per three conversation turns, and default floors. Measure for two weeks, then tune with the [Reporting](/publishers/dashboard/reporting) data.
